The holiday resort of Playas de Fornells is full of many exotic flowers and tropical plants and offers fantastic views over the bay from every angle. There are limited cafes, restaurants and supermarkets in Playas de Fornells. As Playas de Fornells is one of the newer holiday resorts in Menorca it is a little quieter and is just perfect for those looking for a quiet, peaceful holiday in an apartment or villa.

The resort of Playas de Fornells was formed in the 1990's and was built in traditional Menorcan style comprising of white washed apartments and villas with red tiled roofs.

Transfer time from Playas de Fornells Mahon airport is around 50 minutes by coach.

Beaches on Holiday in Playas de Fornells:

Playas de Fornells has it's own sandy beach which leads to the larger beach of Cala Tirant which has shallow sandy bottoms and clear waters which make it safe for children on holiday and good for snorkelling. Playas de Fornells beach has sun loungers and umbrellas to hire and a couple of beach bars/cafes for snacks. The beach at Playas de Fornells can be reached by car or on foot via some wooden steps and walk ways.

The large bay at nearby Fornells is ideal for a variety of watersports and there is a dive centre at Playas de Fornells.

Whilst on holiday in Playas de Fornells lots of people enjoy walking along the coastal paths to take in the beautiful scenery and from here you will come across the Eco museum which also has a cafe.

The Playas de Fornells area is popular for watersports and you will find many opportunities at nearby beaches. There are also many dive centres in the area so it is possible to explore what's going on underwater as well as on dry land.

If you don't fancy going right under water, you could always take a boat trip from Playas de Fornells on a glass bottomed boat to visit nearby resorts or secluded beaches.

Playas de Fornells isn't exactly jam packed with amenities but there are three bars and a restaurant and there are plenty of bars and restaurants in nearby resorts which are within walking distance. Again, shopping in Playas de Fornells is limited but there is a handful of souvenir shops and specialist stores in Fornells village so whatever you need, you will find it nearby.

As you can imagine, there is no nightlife to speak of in Playas de Fornells but take a trip to Ciudadella or Mahon and you will be spoilt for choice.

Nearby Attractions to Playas de Fornells:

Why not venture from Playas de Fornells to Son Parc for a round of golf. Set in wooded countryside, you will be treated to beautiful surroundings and there is even putting green and driving range too. If you are still feeling energetic after your round of golf, you could have a quick game of tennis or you could just sit and relax at the bar/restaurant and watch others play instead.

Take a trip to the small town of Es Mercadel from Playas de Fornells with pretty little streets and rustic whitewashed houses. Once you have finished exploring, you may want to climb Monte Toro, Menorca's highest mountain. There are some fantastic views to be seen from the top and there is also a small cafe for refreshments.
