The holiday resort of Cala'n Porter has some interesting little caves above the town, some even have bars and clubs in them and being quite a small resort, you can probably walk from one end of Cala'n Porter to the other in approx 20 minutes.

Cala'n Porter stands on a hillside and offers some fabulous views of the surrounding area. Cala'n Porter is a beautiful little cove, however, this can become quite crowded during the summer holiday months.

As well as a play area on the beach, Cala'n Porter has a volleyball net, pedalos with slides and kayaks for hire so there is plenty to do if you get tired of sunbathing.

The beach at Cala'n Porter can be reached by car or by walking down the beach road from the centre of the Cala'n Porter or down over 190 steps from the viewpoint overlooking the bay.

A holiday in Cala'n Porter is certainly aimed at families and visitors will find children's play areas, a go- kart track, amusement park rides and tennis courts, definitely something for everyone.

For those who enjoy walking whilst on holiday in Cala'n Porter there is the Cami de Cavalls which is a well signposted route that takes you all over the island. Another way of seeing the countryside around Cala'n Porter is to go on a horseriding excursion at Stables Farm or perhaps just take some lessons, either way you will be sure to have fun.

Cala'n Porter's fiesta is held each year on 3rd weekend in September and lasts from noon on the Friday to midnight on the Sunday. There is live music in the main square of Cala'n Porter, Jaleo (rearing horses) on the beach, a parade through the town by horses and riders and the finale is an impressive firework display at midnight on the Sunday.

Cala'n Porter has a good range of restaurants and offers a variety of cuisine, ranging from Chinese, Indian, British and traditional Menorcan dishes. A popular Menorcan dish to try on holiday in Cala'n Porter is Caldereta which is seafood casserole served with lobster and langoustines with onion jam and aubergines are also popular, not to everyones taste but there is something to suit everyone. There are lots of snack bars in Cala'n Porter, great if you don't want a full sit down meal.

There are plenty of bars to choose from in Cala'n Porter and some of them even offer live music and a variety of other entertainment. Whilst here, you must try and visit the Cova d'en Xoroi which is the most spectacular dance location on the lsland. The caves have been turned into a nightclub with some fantastic views and well worth a visit whilst on your holiday to Cala'n Porter.

There are a few supermarkets round Cala'n Porter which are handy for essentials and a handful of souvenir shops. There is a market featuring clothes and handicrafts in the summer evenings, in the centre of Cala'n Porter.

Nearby Attractions to Cala'n Porter:

The little town of Alaior is just a 20 minute drive away from Cala'n Porter and is full of little narrow streets with many shops, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours. The town is famous for shoe making and you really must take time out to visit the Pons Quintana factory shop and see if you can grab a bargain.

The capital, Mahon is also 20 minutes away from Cala'n Porter and offers plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining and sightseeing. There is also a gin distillery here which is worth a look.

Various outdoor activities are available in S'Algar and Son Parc such as sailing and golf so there is plenty to do if you want to get away from Cala'n Porter for the day during your holiday.
